In a major entertainment milestone for the UAE, Abu Dhabi is set to become home to a brand-new Disney Theme Park Resort, following a landmark partnership between The Walt Disney Company and Miral.
The new Disney resort will be located on Yas Island, already known for its world-class attractions.
It will be the seventh Disney theme park worldwide, joining iconic locations in California, Florida, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong and Shanghai.
The announcement was witnessed by His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.
He said the project reflects the emirate’s growing global stature as a top destination for leisure tourism, and highlighted the creative economy’s key role in driving economic diversification and GDP growth.
Miral will lead the development and operations of the resort, while Disney handles the creative design, development of attractions and operational oversight
Disney CEO Bob Iger said the project will bring the magic of Disney storytelling to an entirely new region, describing it as a cultural, entertainment and technological marvel.
