Authorities in Abu Dhabi have announced comprehensive quarantine guidelines for all international travellers to the emirate.
In a Tweet, the Abu Dhabi Media Office outlined the rules:
- Passengers heading directly to Abu Dhabi after arriving at any of the UAE's airports or entry points must take a PCR test and register under the quarantine system and will be handed an electronic wristband to be worn for 14-days.
- They will have to undergo another PCR test on day 12, and if the result is negative, the wristband will be removed on day 14.
- Similar rules apply to passengers who head to Abu Dhabi after spending less than 14 days in other emirates, but these days spent outside can be deducted from the 14-day quarantine period.
- Meanwhile, those who complete more than 14 days in other emirates are not required to quarantine in Abu Dhabi, and they can enter the emirate as per the regulations already in place.
On arrival in Abu Dhabi, officials will evaluate the most appropriate location for quarantine, which could be at home, in a hotel or in an accommodation assigned by the authorities.
