Ninety five percent of crimes against children in Dubai are not being reported. That’s according to officials at Dubai Police who say many cases of sexual abuse and harassment are not being recorded and the parents of the victims may not even know. Dubai Police officials believe children don’t tell their parents because they are afraid of the attacker as well as what the news will do for their reputation. Parents are urged to monitor their children, whether they are hanging out with friends or in the care of domestic help. The complaints about children being sexually abused has increased from 40 in 2010 to 51 in 2013 and now 57 in 2014.
