Abu Dhabi Police has reassured people of its readiness to respond to the adverse weather conditions that are expected across the UAE on Thursday and Friday.
Authorities are bracing themselves for two days of potential heavy rain but say joint efforts with local entities are in place to ensure the safety of the public.
The Abu Dhabi Police added that emergency protocols and extra preventive measures, including additional personnel in operation rooms, will be taken along with activating early alarm systems, through sending alert messages to the residents of Abu Dhabi, updating them on safety measures during the adverse weather conditions.
In times of emergency, individuals in the UAE capital can contact Abu Dhabi Police and Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority (999), Electricity Emergency (991), Water Emergency (992), Department of Municipalities and Transport – Abu Dhabi (993) to report instances of fallen trees and rainwater accumulation.
On April 16, the UAE saw its heaviest rainfall in 75 years causing widespread disruption across the country.
