Housing loans and repayment waivers worth AED 2.21 billion have been announced for more than 1,600 Emiratis in Abu Dhabi.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces issued the order, following the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
It is the first round of housing loan disbursements in 2021, and coincides with Eid Al Fitr.
Retirees and families of deceased mortgagors have been exempted from loan repayments.
As many as 1,656 UAE citizens are set to benefit from the initiative.
Coinciding with Eid Al Fitr, the total value of the loans and exemptions is AED2.21bn, with 1,656 citizens to benefit.
