Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has announced on Wednesday that a drone targeted a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, which led to a fire breaking out on the site.
In a post on social media platform X, the authority's official spokesperson, Mr. Abdullah Al-Rajehi, confirmed that initial reports found only material damage to the site, with no casualties recorded.
He added that the relevant teams, including firefighters, were immediately dispatched to implement the necessary emergency procedures, including controlling the fire, with all competent authorities present at the incident site.
The Kuwaiti National Guard has also reported its successful interception of six drone attacks within its area on Wednesday.
