At least 12 people have been killed in floods following heavy rains on the eastern coast of South Africa.
Local authorities reported that nine people died in the Eastern Cape province, and more than 2,000 people were evacuated from Nelson Mandela Bay.
Near the port city of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal province, the local government reported that five people died in the eThekwini Metro, which has been hardest hit, and dozens of people are being treated for injuries in health-care facilities.
